Endemol are looking for teams of FIVE PEOPLE to take part in a BRAND NEW general knowledge quiz for ITV.

Would any of you be interested in playing in a couple of trial runs of a new ITV Quiz Show?

The quiz is being written and developed by some of the same team behind University Challenge, and their aim is that it's a robust academic challenge - but not as recondite as UC can be! It's pitched at families of Sporcle addicts and board game lovers.

They are looking for clever, confident teams of three family members - a parent, child and grandparent. Ideally, the child on the team will be aged 10/11/12.

They are beta-testing a couple of versions of the format in their MediaCity offices on Friday 4th August and Thursday 1st September, and are really keen to have real families come in and play.

On Sunday the draw was made for the Cup and Plate competitions to be played from 16th August until the final on 13th September. The games will be played as a handicap competition. The draw is as follows:-

BBC2 are looking for contestants to face a series of tricky questions. You will not be alone however; three celebrities will be debating the answers live in the studio with you.

12 Yard productions are looking to recruit two new Eggheads to join the team, taking the total up to nine (CJ has left again). They are looking for one male and one female quizzer, to be chosen from a knockout competition to be filmed in July.

It has been decided to run a handicap league in parallel with the the normal league competition. Two separate league tables will be produced after each week’s fixtures. The cup competition that starts after the league season finishes will be played on a handicap system as last year. The handicaps have been calculated based on last season’s results and are as follows:-

The fixtures have been released for the new season - a table is shown below with the home team down the side and the away team along the top.  Each team's fixtures are also on the team pages, and all fixtures will be added to the calendar in due course.

A successful Presentation Evening and Pairs Competition was held on Friday 20th November at St. James’s Catholic Club, which saw four teams collect trophies for the League and knock out competitions and the Delph Tavern awarded the Ted Owen trophy for the most sporting team in the league.

The pairs competition was won by Chris Quinn of UCC Blues and John Fitzgerald of Britannia 2014.
